Second Bilirubin Treatment Pictures

These are a must see. For this treatment Conner needed to be placed in an incubator to help regulate his temperature and appears to be more comfortable with less clothing. Actually, I think Conner thought he needed a tan.

We have been home from the hospital for about a week and it appears that Conner’s Bilirubin level is now on the downslope without treatment. WOOOHOOOO! Now all we need to do is put a little meat on his bones.

Here’s Conner dreaming of the beach and whistling the tunes to California Girls.

He must be trying to mimic his daddy here. It appears he is trying to puff out his chest for the girls.

Dozing off for a bit.

Still Dreaming.

First Bilirubin Treatment Pictures

I think he looks like the Green Lantern but others thought he looked more like a WWII fighter pilot. What do you think?

Everyone needs some shades for this treatment.

Haven’t Heard From Us Lately?

Many of you may be wondering why I haven’t been posting everyday. Well, Conner has had to overcome some common obstacles associated with premature delivery. First let me start by saying Conner is fine and should be returning home from the hospital today.

On the second night, Conner’s nurse noticed he might be a bit Jaundice. They tested his Bilirubin level then proceeded to give him treatment with high powered fluorescent lights. His levels appeared good enough to send us home, and on Thursday we brought Conner home. I can’t tell you how exciting this was for us. On Friday we went back to the hospital for a scheduled Bilirubin test and later that night found that his levels had increased. We brought him into the ER late on Friday for more tests, but not much had changed. We were given the option of admitting Conner to be treated or take him home and rent a Bilirubin light. On Saturday we were unable to get a light at home due to the wonderful world of Health Insurance. We brought Conner back to the Hospital for another scheduled test and found that his number was even higher. We then admitted him for monitored treatment of his Bilirubin level, but also noticed he was having a hard time regulating his temperature. Well, I’m glad to say that after three more days in the hospital we should be taking a healthy baby Conner home later today.

I will try to get back to posting some stories and pictures. Look for some pics from Conner’s treatment these past few days.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
